A high level Cedar deck extension with a glass covered canopy and stairs down to the garden

This was a project to build a substantial deck onto a side elevation of the property with a view to the ocean. The design included side panelling for privacy and protection, a glass roof, and stairs to the garden below. Bench seating was also built in.

The garden was cleared and landscaped with a feature Cedar entry and wide block paved walkway to the front of the house. Areas for planting were made ready, retaining and replanting some mature Bamboos as screening for the under-deck. The result is an impressive improvement, adding functionality and dramatic appeal to the house.

This is a picture of the finished deck! The scale of the structure makes a dramatic impact on the property. The height of the deck can be appreciated in this picture. You can see the tall bamboos replanted to screen the underside of the deck.
