Andrew Lewis set up Lewis Landscapes on Salt Spring Island in 1991 after moving from the UK. Having lived and worked on the island more than 30 years he is well established as a highly reputable landscape professional with a strong interest in all kinds of sustainable landscaping and gardening.
Andrew graduated in Biological Sciences, specialising in Marine Biology. He worked on a botanical restoration project on Lizard Island, Queensland, Australia. He also helped with a marine research project on the Great Barrier Reef, becoming a proficient deep sea diver. Lizard Island was where he met Susan. He returned to England and set up a small garden design and build company before moving to Canada and settling permanently on Salt Spring Island. He gained a Diploma in Landscape Restoration from the University of Victoria specialising in Environmental Re-generation and Management. He is also a qualified irrigation specialist. His professional training, together with years of practical experience working in the forest and on the land, enables Lewis Landscapes to offer a unique service to clients on Salt Spring Island.

Lewis Landscapes is small business that hires specialist technicians and labour who reside on Salt Spring Island. Emma Lewis, a graduate in Biological Sciences, also works with Lewis Landscapes as a skilled plantswoman.
